Dave Meritt, the defensive back coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, let a cat out of the bag. He unintentionally spilled the beans about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. The pair were seen hanging out on the football field before Swift’s public appearance at a Chiefs game in September. This confirmed the whispers about their romance.
Dave let this slip during a chat on The Sports Shop With Reese & Mac, aired on Feb. 23. “When she started to come around, it was privately,” he said. Swift was sneaking into the stadiums, and no one was the wiser until the camera’s spotlight found her.
Taylor had admitted earlier that they “were already a couple” before that game on Sept. 24. However, fans were in the dark about her having already met and charmed the NFL tight end’s teammates. That was a big step!
Dave was all praise for Taylor’s influence on the team. “She actually affected the team in a positive way,” he enthused. The team was thrilled that Travis was happy. Dave added, “So when my player, my brother, is happy beside me, that helps me and that encourages me.”
