Going into the summer transfer window, Manchester United’s focus looks to be to solidify their defence, with the Red Devils having real struggles, especially with full backs.

Without a specialised left back due to the injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, the position has had to be covered by other options.

A loan deal brought Sergio Reguilon to Old Trafford from Spurs and centre-back Victor Lindelof and defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat have also been relied on to cover the gaps, with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also being called upon.

It’s no surprise that Erik ten Hag will be looking to the transfer market to fill this hole in his defence going into the coming season, with Teamtalk reporting that they have a new target in sights.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Ait-Nouri is being reported as a target of Sir Jim Ratcliffe to fill this void.

Ait-Nouri would seem to fit into the squad well, especially with ten Hag’s system of having his full backs move forward with the ball, with the 22-year-old having netted a few goals this season.

The Algerian is reported to be well sort after though with reports from Teamtalk of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all looking for his signature.

This is no surprise with the performances he’s been pulling off as well as his young age, Ait-Nouri could be the solution to United’s much felt missing left-back problem.
