The Senator representing Sokoto South senatorial district Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has initiated the distribution of four thousand two hundred (4,200) bags of fertilisers to farmers in Sokoto South senatorial district.
The launching ceremony which took place at the zonal headquarters in Bodinga Local Government is part of the senator’s efforts to support his constituents.
Tambuwal who was represented by his Special Adviser on Constituency Affairs and Stakeholders Engagements, Hon. Aminu Bala Bodinga, said that the gesture aims to increase farmers’ yields during the rainy season.
According to him the federal government had allocated two truckloads of fertilisers to his constituency, which he supplemented with an additional five truckloads to cover all seven local governments in the district.
The Senator assured that the distribution process will be transparent and equitable, ensuring that every local government receives its allocation without bias.
“We have devised a transparent and equitable formula to ensure that every local government receives its allocation without bias.Our goal is to support farmers in all the seven councils, and we will achieve this through a fair and square distribution process”.
Commending the initiative, the chairman of the PDP in Sokoto Bello Aliyu Goronyo applauded the Senator for his efforts of assisting the farming sector not only in his constituency but the state at large.
Goronyo said the fertiliser distribution is a testament to the Senators commitment to empowering farmers and promoting Agricultural growth in the state.
