Position Outputs
- To ensure optimal Inbound Supply Chain and related processes across the whole Barloworld Equipment Southern Africa region and by doing so, support the company in meeting market demand for equipment to grow PINS and maximize profitability, while optimising the cash-to-cash cycle. The role covers all Barloworld Equipment regions in Southern Africa in terms of Inbound Supply Chain operational areas (as well as exports from SA) and requires a high level of interaction with Caterpillar both locally and overseas
- Accountable for overall Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Identification and implementation of processes that drive efficiency and cost containment reducing or eliminating waste in the process.
- Inventory process management ensuring that sales and stock levels targets are met
- Ensure continuous and accurate communication with suppliers (Caterpillar, freight forwarders and transporters etc.) and Barloworld Equipment regions.
- Ensure consistency between Barloworld Equipment Inventory planning system and the Caterpillar DPA tool, as well as correct use thereof.
- Ensure timely Goods Receipt of equipment in conjunction with Sales Admin.
- Management of and improvement to the existing Supply Chain process
- Provision of periodical (daily, weekly, and monthly) reporting for Inbound Supply Chain
- Ensure business functionality for the Inbound Supply Chain through Business Continuity Process in event of an SAP system failure.
- Achievement of Caterpillar’s KPI’s (Forecasting, order placement deadlines, ageing inventory management)
- Development of a cohesive team with developmental opportunities.
- Maintain accurate standard Master Price file and related reporting.
- Manage the Barloworld Equipment S&OP process to drive the correct inventory levels and related ordering behavior
- Manage the machine “parts robbing” process
- Manage the allocation of Inventory to customer orders/tender needs and strategic deals.
- Oversee the machine export’s function including duty refund process
- Work with senior management to ensure the appropriate machine ordering and stock levels to meet business targets
- Assist with SAP Processes and related SD Material Master data for Barloworld Equipment E&T
- Facilitate business improvements in terms of cash-to-cash cycle and cost savings for machines.
- Verify monthly Cat statements for Invoice payments
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Required Qualification:
- Relevant B Degree/Diploma (Financial/Commerce/Supply Chain) and/or Extensive business experience in field
Minimum Required Experience
- >Eight to 10 years Supply Chain/Sales Admin experience
- >5 years Barloworld Equipment Supply Chain or Sales Admin management experience
- Sound knowledge of Barloworld Equipment SAP system and processes
- Knowledge of Caterpillar machines and product structures.
- Strong financial understanding, or extensive Caterpillar and related supply chain/sales admin operational experience.
- Solid understanding of Caterpillar processes
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Up to date knowledge of machine Import/Export regulations.
