Super unveils his top 5 guest character ideas that he'd like to see for Mortal Kombat 12

The way Mortal Kombat 12 was leaked may have been anti-climatic, but it certainly has fans talking about the possibilities. Due to the massive success of guest characters in past NetherRealm Studios titles, it’s safe to assume that Mortal Kombat 12 will also have guest characters playable via DLC.

As such, Super recently released a video that has him discussing which five guest characters he’d like to see in Mortal Kombat 12. He reveals these characters over the course of a 16 minute video with Mortal Kombat X gameplay in the background (which sort of spoils one of Super’s picks).

Super’s first pick is Ash Williams from Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. There’s actually a ton of evidence that suggests that Ash Williams was originally intended to be playable in Mortal Kombat 11, but was ultimately replaced by DC’s Joker instead.

It’s widely believed that the developers ran into issues involving copyright claims as they were developing Ash Williams for Mortal Kombat 11. Here’s hoping that these mysterious issues can be resolved for the character to finally get added in Mortal Kombat 12.

The second pick on the list is Art the Clown from All Hallows’ Eve. As pointed out by Super in his video, Art the Clown is particularly interesting since he doesn’t “discriminate” different weapons. In other words, a character like Art the Clown is just as willing to use a gun as he is a knife whereas a character like Jason Voorhees will almost exclusively use a machete.

Super also presents the idea of adding Harley Quinn to the Mortal Kombat lineup. This idea actually isn’t that crazy considering how we had the Joker in Mortal Kombat 11. Just like with the Joker, it’s doubtful that DC would have a problem with having Fatalities performed against Harley Quinn.

The last two fighters on Super’s list are Freddy Krueger and the Predator. Freddy Krueger would be a returning fighter from Mortal Kombat 9 while the Predator would return from Mortal Kombat X.

Needless to say, the idea of having past guest characters return in Mortal Kombat 12 seems like a strong possibility as Ed Boon has hinted at the idea several times before. Check out the video below to hear all of Super’s thoughts about these guest characters:
