Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had its development ended after achieving a roster of 86 characters. There’s technically even more than that if Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Pyra, and Mythra get counted as separate fighters.
It would seem that VitaOzymandias recently took up the arduous task of recreating the entire Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster within Tekken 8. This was done thanks to Tekken 8’s impressive character customization tools.
To really sell that the characters featured in the video are from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, VitaOzymandias has inserted voice and sound clips for characters as they perform their intro animations. It ends up working really well.
Of course, this also means that we finally have Solid Snake in Tekken. A few years back, there was some controversy regarding a joke by the Evo production team of 2019 in which Snake appeared in a codec call claiming “that was some good-ass Tekken” just before the finals.
Needless to say, David Hayter, the voice of Snake in the Metal Gear series, was not at all amused by this.
Regardless, some of the characters from Super Smash Bros. transitioned extremely well into Tekken 8 thanks to the game’s customization options. Examples of this include Captain Falcon and Wario.
However, other combatants require a little bit of imagination to visualize them as the character they’re supposed to represent in the Super Smash Bros. series.
