Khameleon dropped as a DLC Kameo for Mortal Kombat 1 just yesterday. It’s still early, but notables within the community are already predicting that Khameleon has the potential of an S tier Kameo that has practical uses for the entire roster.
During the latest Kombat Kast, it was advertised that Khameleon would randomly cycle between stances that reference Kitana, Mileena, and Jade, but it was changed so that the cycle would occur in a set order. Additionally, it turns out that each of Khameleon’s stances gives the player access to ambush assists with surprisingly quick cooldowns.
Due to these features for Khameleon, Super has already uncovered a combo that calls Khameleon five times. This really demonstrates just how powerful Khameleon’s short cooldowns really are.
The combo sequence begins with Scorpion ending strings into his Hellfire special. Though this is usually a long animation, it can actually be cancelled with Khameleon’s Fan Lift while donning the Kitana Disguise. By the time this is done a second time, Khameleon already has enough gauge to perform a third action.
To keep the opponent airborne just a little bit longer, Khameleon uses the Sai special from the Mileena Kameo, which behaves similar to Sonya’s combo extender. At the end of it all, Khameleon channels Jade by using the Glaive special, which is just a slightly worse version of Sareena’s combo extending Kameo (which isn’t a bad thing at all).
