The Super Eagles B team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over NPFL side Remo Stars in a friendly match at the Remo Stars Complex in Ikenne, Ogun State, on Wednesday.
This win was an important part of their preparations for the upcoming 2024 CHAN qualifiers against Ghana’s Black Galaxies.
Super Eagles B XI vs Remo Stars:
- Goalkeeper: Henry
- Defenders: Sodiq, Nduka, Onyebuchi, Imoh
- Midfielders: Jide, Zayaad, Isaac
- Forwards: Anas, Sodiq, Alimi
Isaac Saviour and Samuel Ayarinde scored for the Eagles, with experienced midfielder Rabiu Ali providing a key assist. The match started brightly, with Saviour putting the Eagles ahead in the 2nd minute, firing home a well-controlled shot after a smart assist from Sikiru Alimi.

In the 75th minute, Ayarinde doubled the lead, finishing off a precise pass from Rabiu Ali. Although Remo Stars pulled one back in the 90th minute through Iboro Victory, Super Eagles B held firm to secure the 2-1 win.

All 29 players are still in camp, but Coach Augustine Eguavoen, assisted by Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Illechukwu, will trim the squad to the final 22-man list this week.

The first leg of the CHAN qualifiers between Ghana and Nigeria will take place in Accra at 5 PM on Sunday, 22 December.
