Super Eagles star Moses Simon has been rewarded for his impressive season with a nomination for the best African player award in the French Ligue 1.

The prestigious Marc-Vivien Foe award is named after the former Cameroon player, who died on the pitch in 2003.

Simon, who has been a key player for Nantes this season, was on target in the 3-2 loss to Le Havre on Sunday.

The 29-year-old will slug it out with PSG star Achraf Hakimi, and 11 others for the highly coveted award.

Simon has scored seven goals and recorded eight assists for Nantes in the Ligue 1 this season.

This is the fourth time he will be nominated for the award, he made the list in 2020, 2022, and 2024.

This year’s winner will be determined by a panel of specialised journalists, and the winner will be announced on May 12.
