Dating long distance for a year and a half had finally taken its toll on the NYC resident. She’d had enough of his lack of planning.
The last straw? A text message. It arrived just five or six days before Christmas. “Hey, I just realized Christmas and New Year’s are coming up, what are we doing?” Kory, her Charlotte-based boyfriend, had asked.
Her response was blunt. “If you really wanted to spend that time with me, you would have texted me before then or we would have figured it out sooner.” It was a tough moment for her. She’d always dreamed of spending a holiday like Christmas with a boyfriend at her family’s place.
The relationship, however, didn’t survive. But Sam was adamant about one thing: they had to remain on good terms post-breakup.
“He was really mature about it,” she said. She wanted to be friends, not enemies. She told him, “I would never root against you. I don’t want to be your enemy.” His response? “I could never be your enemy. I respect you too much.”
The story continues. Want to know more? Stay tuned for Summer House season eight. It’s premiering Thursday, Feb. 22, at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
