The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged youths in the state to embrace entrepreneurship and business rather than relying on white-collar jobs.
He made this call during a capacity-building workshop for members of the Sokoto Professional Network.
Represented by Alhaji Muhammad Sani Jabi, the Sultan emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth.
“Let our youths be contributors to the economy, not just beneficiaries. In developed countries, citizens drive development, not the government.”
Alhaji Abdulrahman Musa Bashir, Chairman of the program, echoed the Sultan’s sentiments by saying the workshop offers a unique opportunity for youths to acquire skills and find solutions to unemployment.
Bashir, advised youths to focus on building their capacity and improving their living standards through small-scale businesses.
“Entrepreneurship is key to a successful future, leveraging Nigeria’s abundant natural resources.”
In his address,Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, Chairman of the Sokoto Professional network, assured participants of the resource persons’ expertise and urged members to focus on developing their small-scale businesses rather than seeking government jobs.
