Job Description
Responsibilities:
To promote positive mental health and facilitate the holistic development, and emotional well-being of the College of Health Sciences students, through the provision of assessment, individual and group counselling/therapy, wellness programmes, skills development, and referral services.
Minimum requirements:
Master’s degree in Psychology (Counselling, Clinical, Educational or Industrial) or Master’s degree in Social Work (with specialisation in Clinical Social Work)
Current professional registration as an independent practitioner with the HPCSA or SACSSP.
Two (2) years of post-registration, relevant experience as an independent practitioner.
Knowledge of student learning, and development theories
Must have the flexibility to offer the contracted hours of service in either the working day, afternoons, evenings or weekends.
Services must be offered face to face at the respective DCTP site.
Sessional Student Counsellors must have time available to offer services for a minimum of 15 hours per week
