It’s time to change the way you see Street Fighter 6. Not in a profound, relationship-altering way, but in the spirit of fun GGROLER has produced a video showing all current character win animations with a camera that doesn’t cut away or move at all.
We see one of these sequences play out every time we play a match in SF6 and so for many it’s to the point that we hardly even notice them anymore. When you see what these characters are actually doing during these sequences that rely heavily on angles and editing to keep the magic intact, the results are funny, jarring, and sometimes a little bizarre.
Things kick off with Ryu who, as you might expect, has the most vanilla win animation in the game. No big surprises here (save maybe for the red spotlight we didn’t realize was a thing) as he simply strikes a pose and walks away.
Luke is more or less the same, but then we get to Manon. The French model actually teleports around the stage during her animation, and we’ll find that this is actually quite commonplace for many fighters as developers have clearly strategically edited their placements and angles to get the best visuals from the camera’s point of view.
JP’s outro, which I’m going to say has been and still is my favorite of the bunch, is actually a little more daunting as he has a bit of a horror movie stop-motion unpredictability as he marches toward an unconscious foe and threatens to crush their face under his foot.
Dee Jay’s, in contrast, is quite comical as we watch him “sign the camera” by squiggling a marker in thin air. A.K.I.’s sensual slide is a bit more terrifying at first, but it turns out that when she threatens with her final blow the other character is completely absent from the screen.
GGROLER’s showcase includes all characters up through M. Bison and you can view it right here. Be sure to let us know which of these stood out to you most and why in the comments after you watch.
