Street Fighter 6 server maintenance coming June 2

Street Fighter 6 dropped its largest update yet last week to bring Akuma and the Season 2 balance patch to the game, and it seems the developers need to do a bit more work with it quite soon.

Capcom just announced a period of server maintenance coming for SF6 later this week that’ll render online systems unusable for a number of hours.

As revealed in their notice, Street Fighter’s maintenance is scheduled to begin this Sunday, June 2, starting at 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET and last until around midnight PT / 3 a.m. ET.

During this time, all online functionality will remain unavailable including online matches, the Battle Hub, in-game shop, CFN, rewards and more.

Capcom doesn’t say explicitly what the purpose of the maintenance is, but we can make a few educated guesses.

What we do know is this time will mark the end of the Giant Attack event going on in the Battle Hub now where players can face off against SiRN Akuma though players can still use the new boss version of the demon by performing a few specific steps.

Beyond that, it’s also about time for SF6 to receive the next Fighting Pass, so that’s a pretty likely addition too.

There could also very well be some small fixes to issues introduced in the latest update as well.

Street Fighter 6’s Director did recently confirm the game will receive more than one balance update for Season 2, but considering we just got a whole bunch of adjustments last week, that’s probably not happening again any time soon.
