Street Fighter 6 was first released on June 2, 2023, and as we draw nearer to its one year anniversary Capcom continues to report strong sales for the title. The company has released their latest financial report, and in it details the recent sales numbers and performance for several of their largest titles on the market right now.

Right now, fans are gearing up to get their hands on Akuma — Street Fighter 6’s next and final DLC character included in the Year 1 pass — near the end of this month, which will undoubtedly contribute more to the game’s sales. But right now, Capcom reports that Street Fighter 6 has reached 3.3 million units sold worldwide.

Last time we heard about Street Fighter 6 sales, Capcom was announcing that the game had hit 3 million units. Back in January, the company released a thank you message to fans with some special Chun-Li artwork to commemorate the achievement.

Since that last report, it looks like Street Fighter 6 is up another nearly 300,000 sold copies, which puts in on pace to hit some great milestones here within its first year.

“In Digital Contents, Street Fighter 6 (for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC), the latest title in the series leading the Group’s eSports activities, was released in June 2023 to global acclaim,” Capcom wrote in their IR report. “As a result, the game achieved sales of 3.3 million units, which contributed to improved segment results.”

Capcom also states that Dragon’s Dogma 2, their new open world action RPG has hit 2.62 million units sold since its release back in March. On top of this, Monster Hunter: World is now up to a whopping 25.3 million while Resident Evil 4 Remake has hit 7.02 million copies sold a little over a year after its release.

As it stands right now, Capcom’s Platinum Titles page — which features sales numbers for games that have over 1 million sold — shows Street Fighter 6 as having 2.90 million and will likely be updated soon. With its new sales figure of 3.3 million, however, SF6 is stacking up pretty nicely to some of Capcom’s other hit fighting games.

Looking at fighting titles that have surpassed Street Fighter 6’s new number we see the initial launch version of Street Fighter 4. The 2009 game released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and digitally and sold 3.5 million units (not counting Super, Ultra, or any further updates).

Also above Street Fighter 6 right now is Street Fighter 2 Turbo (4.1 million units), Street Fighter 2 (6.3 million units), and Street Fighter 5 (7.4 million units). With the latest entry in the Street Fighter series already over the 3 million mark without even being a full year old yet, the game should ultimately end up a very solid success for the company.

Akuma and the first large balance patch are coming to Street Fighter 6 together on May 22.
