It hasn’t even been a full year since Street Fighter 6 was released on June 2, 2023. Late last night, Capcom reported that Street Fighter 6 has achieved over 3 million sales worldwide.
“Forever grateful for all your support these past few months,” wrote Capcom on the official Street Fighter account on Twitter. “Like Chun-Li says to Ryu: ‘The more I think about it, the more I feel like it was you who brought out my true strength.'”
For now, Street Fighter 6 is still listed as having sold only 2.4 million units on Capcom’s Platinum Titles page as of September 30, 2023. At some point, the page will be updated once more to show that Street Fighter 6 has sold over 600,000 units since then.
Currently, Street Fighter 4 (3.5 million units), Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (4.1 million units), Street Fighter 2 (6.3 million units), and Street Fighter 5 (7.4 million units) are Capcom’s fighting games that have sold more than Street Fighter 6.
However, it should be noted that Street Fighter 6 is currently outpacing Capcom’s best-selling fighting game, Street Fighter 5 (when counting each version of Street Fighter 2 individually), by this point considering that Street Fighter 5 was unable to reach its goal of pushing 2 million units by about 600,000 units over a month and a half.
Based on this, it seems like Street Fighter 6 could be on pace for being the best-selling entry in the series. Here’s hoping that Street Fighter 6’s success continues trending like this in the years to come.
Street Fighter 6 has now sold over 3 million copies!
