Street Fighter 6’s director Takayuki Nakayama often shares concept artwork for the game and official works that we just don’t get to see elsewhere. Just last week, we saw a rejected character design of a blond female fighter that resembled Fatal Fury and King of Fighters’ own Terry Bogard (and also Geese Howard).
This time around, though, Nakayama released an image featuring concept art of rejected designs for one of Street Fighter 6’s main story mode characters. Here’s a peek at was Bosch, your friendly rival, could have looked like in-game.
There’s around six distinct designs showcased in the art that each have quite a bit of variance to them in terms of hairstyle, overall clothing and even some size and stature.
Some even give him scars that can glow when imbued with Psycho Power and a few different styles of face and body paint along with a few potential hat choices.
There are a few constants among them all, however, with the clothing all being inspired by central and south Asian cultures with the beads, clothing patterns and designs, which carried over into his final design.
This isn’t the first time Nakayama shared some concept art for Bosch, but this appears to be much earlier in the development timeline compared to the near complete look we saw before.
Japanese text included in the image states Bosch means “dog” in the Nayshall language at the top, the left side indicates that look was more based on Chinese martial arts while the bottom text says they were going for Mongolian Sumo fighting.
Nakayama appears to have shared this at the same event where he revealed that completely rejected fighter with a couple designs that looked similar to the SNK icons, though she may have eventually became Manon for the final release.
You can check out all of the different designs for Bosch below, and let us know if you think they should have gone with any of these over what we saw in World Tour mode.
