It’s already been like four months since Street Fighter 6 received its second and latest drop of new costumes, and we haven’t really heard about any more coming to the game since then.
Street Fighter 6’s Director Takayuki Nakayama didn’t give fans an update yet on when exactly to expect an Outfit 4 or anything along those lines for his fighting game, but he did offer up a closer look at one of the best we didn’t get (not yet at least).
Nakayama took to X / Twitter today to share an image of one of Akuma’s rejected alternate costume designs for SF6 along with a few other thoughts about it.
The outfit in question would have seen the demon basically turn into a Japanese school gym teacher with his own track suit and sneakers making him look like a more laid back rival to Hayato Nekketsu from Rival Schools funnily enough.
Along with the image, Nakayama writes that most people’s eyes are going to be drawn to his clothes / shirt, but points out most fans seem to miss the pink pom-pom tying up Akuma’s top knot, which he refers to as cute.
For those curious, Akuma’s shirt says Shun Goku Satsu to reference his Raging Demon Super Art, and the Director notes that he hopes they can perhaps turn it into some fun merchandise.
We’d probably rather just have that costume to use in game, however.

Technically, Nakayama has shared an image of the outfit before along with 30 other scrapped costume ideas for Rashid, A.K.I., Ed and Akuma though now we can see it in more detail (along with some of his thoughts behind it).
SF6 players do have Terry Bogard and some nice new features to look forward to with the big update coming on September 24, but fans are also hungry for more ways to dress up their favorite fighters.
Even if they did smaller packs like Street Fighter 5, it’d be cool to start seeing more themed costumes again for seasonal events like Halloween instead of putting all of that cosmetic focus on the player avatars.
And I’m not going to give up hope that we can someday get this Akuma teacher outfit or at least something else fun like that idea.
