Street Fighter 6 character stats for one of the few Capcom Pro Tour Premier events reveal some surprising successes and exclusions

The Capcom Pro Tour is now underway for the second season in Street Fighter 6, and there’s only six offline Premier events this year featured where only one player can advance to Capcom Cup 11.

Cream City Convergence 2024 is going down this weekend as the second such Premier after Evo 2024 with a ton of the top talent from all over the world, and we’ve gone and gathered the top 32 and 64 character stats to see who is showing up the most and those left out of the action.

Starting out with the top 32, we ended up seeing a total of 15 of the game’s 23 characters receive main play with 10 of them being repeats.

Once again, M. Bison and Akuma are showing up as the most popular threats with the DLC fighters coming in with 4 and 5 players in the upper brackets respectively though they aren’t going to fully determine who’s going to Capcom Cup.

While there were 4 Akuma / Bison players in the top 16, none of them managed to advance onto the final top 8 bracket where we did see a couple of less common characters reach the last stage instead.

The top 8 for this CPT event was made up of 6 different characters between Rashid, Zangief, Guile, Ed, Juri and Manon with the last 2 showing up with multiple players, which we don’t really see at majors (especially with the French grappler).

And despite their dominance in the first year of SF6, Luke and JP had basically no impact on this tournament aside from Super Smash Bros. pro player Liquid|Riddles making it to 25th place with the Sand Blaster.

Chun-Li, Jamie, JP, Kimberly, Marisa and Ryu were the characters who didn’t show up at all in the top 32.

• Akuma – 5 (1)

• M. Bison – 4

• Guile – 3

• Zangief – 3

• Ed – 2 (1)

• A.K.I. – 2

• Juri – 2

• Ken – 2

• Manon – 2

• Rashid – 2

• Cammy – 1 (1)

• Dee Jay – 1 (1)

• Dhalsim – 1

• Lily – 1

• Luke – 1

• Blanka – 0 (1)

• E. Honda – 0 (1)

When we push the results back out to the top 64, basically all SF6 characters saw play at least once during this part of the event and only one who didn’t get picked as a main.

M. Bison was able to snatch the most used spot overall ahead of the demon, and there still wasn’t anyone else within 2 players of them.

There were certainly other characters, however, who saw a big bump in usage with the top 64 since Chun-Li went from 0 to 4 main competitors while Ryu, JP, Luke, Lily, A.K.I., Cammy and a few others each went up by 2 players.

Blanka ended up being the single character we didn’t see get main play, but Falcons|MenaRD did break him out along with Zangief when needed.

With 303 competitors signed up for SF6 this weekend, this top 64 represents the best 21% of players who made it that far.
