Millie Bobby Brown’s wedding is shaping up to be a real Stranger Things reunion. Her ex-co-star, Matthew Modine, has spilled the beans that he’s the one who’ll be officiating the upcoming vows between Millie and her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi.
Matthew shared his role in the wedding with Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover during an Access Daily interview on March 20. He casually mentioned, “I have one of those licenses to get people hitched.” Millie thought it was a fab idea, and Jake was all for it too.
Matthew, who’s also starred in Oppenheimer, has already penned the wedding vows for the couple. They got engaged last April, and he proudly revealed that “they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and become husband and wife.”
Matthew’s journey to becoming a wedding officiant started during the Covid pandemic. He officiated an outdoor wedding for some pals in upstate New York. He loved it so much that when Millie asked him, he was thrilled.
He said, “It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.” He then added a personal touch, mentioning that he and his wife, Caridad Rivera, have been married for 44 years. He ended with a nugget of wisdom, saying marriage is “amazing when it works.”
