SAN FRANCISCO – Steph Curry will not suit up for Golden State’s Tuesday game against visiting Milwaukee on the second night of a back-to-back.
Curry was listed out due to “rest” on the official injury report.
The news comes after coach Steve Kerr said the point guard was worn down following a 114-105 loss to the shorthanded Denver Nuggets.
“He’s exhausted right now, so we’ve got to absolutely consider giving him a night and getting him rejuvenated for the sake of him and the remainder of our games,” Steve Kerr said Monday night.
The superstar told media on Monday night that he had been dealing with an injured back since last week’s game against the Kings.
The Warriors will have a day off on Wednesday before ending their seven-game homestand against Toronto on Thursday.
Curry has averaged 33 minutes a night in 22 games since his last day off on Jan. 28. Curry has played in 59 of Golden State’s 68 games this season.
Curry scored 20 points and shot 6 of 21 from the field against Denver, continuing a negative trend over the past two weeks.
Over his past five outings, Curry had averaged 23 points per game on 37.2% shooting from the field and just 32.2% from behind the 3-point line.
In early March, Curry dealt with a right ankle injury.
Brandin Podziemski (back) and Quinten Post (ankle) were both listed as questionable.
