Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Safe operation of the stage including stage inspections, installation of services and concrete lining
- Relieve the Sinker, should the need arise and take charge within agreed parameters in line with legal and safety protocols
- Sign legal declarations of workplace, record and be in charge of explosive usage
- Construction work effected to standard and within timelines
- Safe and timeous bank activities, including slinging arrangements and effective shaft signalling for the safe conveyance of equipment, material, explosives, blasted rock and people
- Effective management of the Batch Plant Operation on surface
- Conducting all assigned work in a satisfactory and competent manner
- Ensuring the safety of the employees under his/her control
- Complying with the Health and Safety policy and practices of the company
- Effective communication to ensure safe and timeous workflows
- Effective self-management and team supervision in alignment with M&RC values
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Onsetter Certificate
- Blasting Certificate
- Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
- Covid- 19 Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate [Site Specific]
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Previous working experience as a Stagehand
- Strong working knowledge of Batch Plant
- Working in an underground mining environment
- Shaft sinking, Vertical # Equipping and construction experience
- Knowledge of Shaft Concrete Lining, Bank Operation, Concrete Related Work, Wet Crete Applications
