MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Equine qualifications
Experience working in/ managing a competition stable
Previous experience in equine rehabilitation experience advantageous
Previous farming/livestock experience advantageous
A very high attention to detail and tidy approach is essential
A strong work ethic, with a focus on getting the job done effectively and efficiently
A team player with a strong practical approach to problem solving
Previous maintenance experience advantageous
A driver’s license, ideally manual and experience towing a horse trailer.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Overseeing daily running of the yard
Operating the solarium for internal and external clients
Management/ checking of rehabilitation horses and provision of daily medications, dressing changes, etc.
Daily chores – feeding, mucking out, tack cleaning, sweeping etc.
Tacking up and untacking of horses
Preparation of competition of horses, including plaiting up, clipping, etc.
Staff and client management when appropriate
Riding work is possible with the right experience as is some competition riding.
Manage livery horses
Manage the groom (currently only 1)
Manage supplies, feed, treatment for horses
Update livery owners on their horses
Training with lessons
Handle outrides (future)
Manage equestrian facilities and give feedback to the general manager
Includes accommodation
Livestock Management: Cattle, chickens, fallow deer
Farming experience beneficial – Soil, water, bales
