Sporting CP are set to sack their Ruben Amorim replacement, Joao Pereira.
The decision from the hierarchy at the club has been made, just weeks after seeing Ruben Amorim depart the club.
The decision has been made today, according to Record Portugal’s report.
According to the report, the decision has simply been made due to poor results.
Ruben Amorim of course, departed Sporting to join Manchester United.
Amorim’s departure was one that was announced well in advance.
It therefore comes a surprise that the hierarchy at Sporting have decided to sack Pereira so soon.
Moreso, considering the amount of time the directors had to carry out checks and analysis into their new manager.

Amorim was of course, a manager that had outgrown the project at Sporting.
The Portuguese had turned the club into a team that was able to compete on all fronts.
Improvement was so vast, it reached the level of Sporting beating sides like Arsenal in European competitions.
Victor Gyokeres had reached a new level under Amorim, so it comes as a surprise to see Sporting’s results fluctuate so quickly since.
Sporting have however, managed to avoid defeat in their last three games.
That only makes for a bold decision to sack Pereira so soon.
Some may suggest the sacking has come down to tactical differences between Amorim and Pereira.
However, Pereira had stuck with the 3-4-3 system that Amorim had built his squad around.
The news of the imminent sacking should only emphasise the job Amorim had done at Sporting.
Many have been quick to criticise Amorim’s inability to completely flick the switch at United.
However, it is a job that takes time to see results and solid performances.
Time to bring in players and move players on, whilst embedding new principles.
Key word being ‘time’, something Pereira wasn’t afforded.
