The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo gave the assurance when a delegation of People Living With Albinism paid him a courtesy call.
The Chairman of the Cross River State Albino Foundation, Pastor Bassey Mbang who commended the Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo for his support to PLWA also called on the CRSHA to put in a place legislation to eradicate stigmatization and create a better welfare for them. The group also solicited governments intervention on their challenges with the provision of glasses and caps to shield them from intense sun rays.
The Speaker charged them to keep their dreams alive as they are special people who contribute to making the state great and by extension, the whole country. He assured them of partnership with the World Health Foundation in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and the CRSHA to include them in the 2017 budget of Cross River State.
