Speaker Assures CRSHA Members Will Patronise Clinic

The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon John Gaul Lebo, has given assurance that he will impress on members of the House to patronize the House of Assembly clinic. He said the need for the establishment of the clinic will be achieved in addition to making meaningful impact within the Ekorinim Community and environs.

Hon Lebo gave the assurance when he received in audience the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mrs. Inyang Asibong who was on a facility tour of Staff Clinics in Calabar metropolis. He promised to work in tandem with Governor Benedict Ayade health policy for the state by involvement in outreach campaigns and enlightenment of the community to take advantage of the House of Assembly clinic.

According to him “there is that great need for my colleagues and the members of Ekorinim Community to take advantage of the clinic and I will ensure the impact of the clinic is felt”.
Earlier Dr Asibong said she embarked on the facility tour to assess the needs of the clinic for identifying the gaps in the services which will help to design a program that is truly responsive to the work force in the state and the community.

According to her, “It is with a view to improving the facilities as well as taking steps to upscale the services for the well being of the state's Workforce and the community who are disposed to patronize them, His Excellency, Senator Prof Benedict Ayade has directed me to embarked on this tour”.

Dr Asibong assured that she will ensure that medical officers move round the clinics under staff clinics to offer and add value to the services.

At the Government house clinic, the Medical officer in charge, Dr Joseph Adim Bassey conducted Commissioner Asibong around the various units and offices.

Dr Asibong also visited the staff clinic, Michael Ani Secretariat, Calabar where she directed the Head of Nursing Services, Mrs Gee Nkang Abang to mobilize adequately for civil servants to patronize the clinics.

Other clinics she also inspected are located at Emergency Response Centre, opposite Governor's office, Calabar, U. J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State House of Assembly complex, Calabar, Fire and Rescue Service, Marian road, Calabar and Motherless Babies Home, Uwanse, Calabar.
