After nearly 17 years since the last one, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is getting new life soon and appears to be going bigger than ever.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is on the way, and its release date may have just inadvertently leaked online.
Portuguese modder and data-miner SergioM3R recently shared a discovery he allegedly came across, which says in plain words when the next Dragon Ball fighter is going to launch.
This was reportedly pulled from one of Bandai Namco’s official websites that are publicly accessible though he won’t say where exactly to find them for “obvious reasons.”
Included in the page data was a list of upcoming Bandai Namco releases showing Sparking Zero and others like Gundam Breaker 4, SpyXAnya: Operation Memories and more followed by what are said to be release dates.
According to that, the new Dragon Ball game is reportedly going to release on October 1, 2024, which is a Tuesday.
Cause a minute amount of people are having some trust issues, let me clarify something.
This datamine’s entry point was found on the game’s official website.
This is public and anyone can access it. I did not show how for obvious reasons! Let’s not damage our beloved game!— SérgioM3 (@SrgioM3) May 18, 2024
There is a very good chance the listed times could be a placeholder, however, since many of the other games on the page are also shown to be coming out on the first or second of their respective months.
A few discrempancies are there too with Elden Ring being listed as June 23, which seems to be referring to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion coming out June 21.
Sergio also says he redacted a handful of titles that may not have been fully unveiled yet if this is all legitimate.
It is somewhat backed up by the IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) board from Singapore recently rating Sparking Zero with a listed year release of 2024.
If the date ends up being true, it’ll be just three days before the 17th anniversary of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3’s Japanese release on October 4, 2007.
Sparking Zero is set to surpass BT3’s massive roster with 164 playable characters to choose from in the 3D brawler from across Dragon Ball’s expansive history.
The game is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, and we’ll likely be hearing more about the next big Dragon Ball game pretty soon.
