With the international break now upon, Manchester United will be looking towards their next Premier League fixture later this month.
The Red Devils are set to face Southampton away from home, with two of their current injured stars looking to return for the game.
Long-term injury Luke Shaw is due to return, finally giving Eric ten Hag a natural left-back to take to the field, rather than relying on Diogo Dalot to cover.
The other returning face is striker Rasmus Hojlund. With Joshua Zirkzee still finding his feet, ten Hag will finally have both of his attacking options to choose from again.
However, on the opposition’s side, it’s unlikely that The Saints’ wonderkid will be taking the field.
18-year-old academy star Tyler Dibling is one of the hottest prospects at the club, being a standout performer in the pre-season.
The academy graduate has come off the bench in each of the Saints’ three Premier League games this season. However, the attacking midfielder received his first competitive start in the Carabao Cup against Cardiff City where they won 5-3, with Dibling grabbing two assists.
Speaking in a recent press conference about the youngster, Saints boss Russell Martin commented: “Tyler was brilliant. He was our biggest attacking threat. He was on the pitch for 15 minutes and he’s 18.”
He continued: “We need a bit more of that mentality, that freedom to go and create, but he’s a really special talent.”
However, it’s unlikely that Dibling will be featuring heavily against United.
The midfielder is currently away with the England Under-19s alongside Southampton team-mate Sam Amo-Ameyaw.
It’s expected that Martin is going to spend the break working out his plan for the next block of games. Unfortunately though, Dibling’s absence may see him sidelined in Southampton’s immediate plans.
