South South: is Hausa Fulani really the Problem? ~by Princewill Odidi

If our federal roads remain as they are by 2019, it is the fault of our federal elected officers, appointees and top federal civil servants. The auditor general of the federation is Cross Riverian, so is the head of service, and several other top appointees all from cross river.
All federal Permanent Secretaries report to the Head of service. I was amazed to have found out that the Calabar Ikot Ekpene road was inserted into the budget by an Igbo man, the current perm sec general services at the Presidency.
When we asked him why he decided to insert the Ikot Ekpene road in the budget, he said during the civil war, his battalion stationed around Itu bridge, they lost a lot of men, but the locals were kind to him, so when he saw the road listed for consideration because of the attachment he has for the road he proceeded to push it through.
So we cannot continue to blame everyone for our troubles, and cry marginalization, those we elected what effort have they made in terms of infrastructure back to the state? Or do they just sit in air conditioned offices and wait for the end of their tenures? From the day our elected officers and appointees stop fighting among themselves for claims of superiority our states infrastructure will have a facelift.
Or do we know the billions sunk into NDDC past 16 years? What do they have to show for it? It's time we sit down and ask ourselves the real question if the Hausa Fulani man is really our problem.
Those are the direct questions we will ask going forward. Our problem is not really the man at the top, our problem is internal, our leaders can make it happen if they decide to.
