The Southeast Zonal City Boy Movement has issued a strong condemnation against what it describes as a deliberate and fraudulent attempt by certain individuals to create division within the organization.
In a press release signed by Prof Ik Ogwo, Secretary of the Southeast Zonal City Boy Movement, the leadership publicly denounced the actions of a group led by one Engr Nwaokorie, who they allege has falsely assumed the title of “South East Zonal Coordinator” and established an unauthorized WhatsApp group, claiming to be zonal leaders.
The movement described these individuals as “political vultures” and accused them of undermining the integrity and principles upon which the City Boy Movement was founded.
“Their conduct reeks of dishonor, betraying the very principles of integrity and loyalty upon which this organization was founded,” The press release stated.
According to the statement, the South East Zonal City Boy Movement noted that they remain firmly committed to its established leadership and will not tolerate any effort to impose an illegitimate faction.
The leadership stated that it is prepared to take legal action against the alleged impostors, including involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Department of State Services (DSS), and the Inspector General of Police.
The statement also expressed frustration with the movement’s Director-General, who, according to the Southeast leadership, has ignored repeated attempts to resolve the matter amicably.
They noted that their formal complaints and requests for intervention have been met with silence, including blocked communication, forcing them to escalate the issue to Seyi Tinubu, the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement.
The leadership issued a stern warning to Engr. Nwaokorie and his group, cautioning them to desist from actions aimed at destabilizing the movement.
They emphasized that the structure of the City Boy Movement in the Southeast was built on sacrifice and commitment and would not be allowed to be hijacked by what they described as “renegades” with self-serving agendas.
Describing the City Boy Movement as a beacon of hope, progress, and unity, the leadership reaffirmed their commitment to its ideals and expressed confidence in Seyi Tinubu’s guidance to ensure justice prevails.
They vowed to resist any attempts to undermine the movement, declaring their resolve to protect its integrity and mission.
They further called on all members to remain united in the face of what they described as a malicious attempt to tarnish their legacy and also gave a strong declaration of their determination to ensure the movement remains unshaken and committed to its founding principles.
