Sony was working on a PC version of Gran Turismo 7. However, the project has been canceled. Many PC gamers are disappointed. Sony has not explained why they made this decision.
Sony Cancels Gran Turismo 7 PC version: A Disappointing Move for Racing Fans
The news came from Bryank75, a reliable source on the IconEra forum. Sony planned to bring Gran Turismo 7 to PC. This followed the success of other PlayStation games on PC like God of War, The Last of Us, and Marvel’s Spider-Man. These games helped Sony reach more players. That’s why canceling Gran Turismo 7 for PC is surprising.
This cancellation doesn’t mean Sony is giving up on PC games. The company still supports its PC strategy. But for racing fans, this is a big loss. They were hoping to enjoy one of the best racing games on their PCs.
Gran Turismo 7 was released on March 4, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game received great reviews. It even won the “Best Sports/Racing Game” award at The Game Awards 2022. Sony continues to update the game. The latest 1.55 update added four new cars:
- Gran Turismo F3500-A
- 1987 Honda Civic Si Extra (available from a used car dealer)
- 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5N
- 2018 Toyota C-HR S
These updates show Sony’s commitment to the game. But PC gamers will miss out on this experience for now.
There’s no news if Sony will change its mind in the future. Many players still hope to see GT7 on PC someday. A PC version could attract new fans, grow the game’s popularity, and introduce the series to a wider audience of racing enthusiasts. The demand for a PC version remains strong, which could influence Sony’s future decisions.
