Although Sonic the Hedgehog has been part of the crew since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the blue blur is seeing his most competitive success ever in Smash Ultimate, and a lot of that is due to one player in particular.
LG|Sonix recently released his new match up chart for his boy Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with a bit of a different spin on things.
Instead of attaching numbers to the advantages or disadvantages facing Sonic on the massive roster, Sonix wanted to view the breakdown in these four categories in particular: easy to win, should win, easy to lose, and hard to win.
Interestingly, Bayonetta is the first character he has as a match up that’s easy to lose for his main because she has good movement options to try and nail him down with some strong combos that still work even if she isn’t the most consistent.
Sonix has to think about it for a minute, but he ends up putting Cloud in the should win against tier since he feels the Final Fantasy 7 hero is actually worse than players like Sparg0 can make him look at tournaments that relies on people being scared of him and not checking the swordsman with edge guards.
There’s a lot of strong characters he believes Sonic should beat in the current meta too including the likes of Joker, R.O.B., Byleth, Captain Falcon, Peach, Mario, Palutena, Mr. Game & Watch, Ken and more.
On the flip side, however, he only has two fighters down in the hard to win category with one of them funnily enough being Pikachu. Can you think of what the other is?
