Quan Chi has made it to Mortal Kombat 1 as the game’s latest DLC addition and might be more threatening than ever as he’s got all new abilities and all new ways of putting the hurt on opponents.
This time around NetherRealm Studios designed the evil sorcerer with a sprinkling of H.P. Lovecraft as he summons tentacled beasts via portals to another dimension. Top Mortal Kombat competitor SonicFox has already figured out a way to lop off 60% of a health bar with Quan-Chi and Sektor, and can do so from full screen away.
The sequence requires Quan to set a portal up behind himself and then call his Kameo partner Sektor for an assist. He proceeds to use his standing 4 poke (a kick he launches backwards through a portal that emerges on the other side of the enemy) and if it lands, he can take more than half a full health bar.
Fatal Blow is required for this much damage, but the fact that this zoning newcomer is capable of so much from so far is intimidating. It’s a bit too early to say maneuvers like this are going to make Quan Chi one of the best in a game filled with crazy scenarios, but it’s definitely a good start.
In any case, check out the quick sequence for yourself via the embed here:
