Specifically those who bought the game on Xbox and PC
Mortal Kombat 1’s competitive circuit is underway with players across multiple continents fighting for points and the limited spots available at next year’s finals.
With the online leg of the MK1 Pro Kompetition starting up as well now too in some regions, some competitors are voicing their displeasure with its system restrictions.
Players including former Evo winner Perfect Legend have pointed out that the rules for the Pro Kompetition limit events to only PlayStation 5.
That of course means that Xbox and PC users (and technically Nintendo Switch) are completely left out from qualifying spots or earning points unless they travel out to one of the few offline events.
This is an unfortunate ruling for potentially thousands of hopeful competitors, but not all too surprising given the current logistics.
Mortal Kombat 1 did not launch with Krossplay between systems, and the PS5 seems to be where the majority of players ended up again.
So organizers are also less incentivized to put on separate, smaller events for Xbox and PC, but hey, at least Wi-Fi is banned.
MK1 Pro Komp Online is only on PS5?
PC and Xbox players just assed out huh?
This is UNACCEPTABLE.

Krossplay was recently confirmed to be coming to the three major platforms in February 2024, so you also have people now wondering why they didn’t delay the online portion of the pro tour until then to accommodate everyone.
Technically only the Liga Latina region has kicked off online events with the North American and InterKontinental leagues not set to begin their tournaments until January 2024 — so a month doesn’t sound like that much of a stretch.
Seeing as though Warner Bros. has scheduled the MK1 world finals for June, however, that could well be trying to squeeze too much into a short amount of time.
Xbox and PC communities need to be included. Honestly I don’t know the real reason Playstation is the only console that gets to participate in fg tournaments (excluding a very small percentage of games i.e. Killer Instinct). Been like this for too long

This was exceedingly common practice for official online fighting game events almost across the board during the PlayStation 4 era (including Mortal Kombat 11), but we’ve reached the point now where cross-platform play should be the norm here as we quickly approach 2024 — though it looks like we’re not there just yet.
NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. could still change the rules once Krossplay becomes live, so we can at least hold out some hope for that.
it keeps getting worse for us PC players

Otherwise, Xbox and PC players may not be incorporated into the official competitive circuit for nearly a year, and who knows how many will still be around waiting at that point.
There’s a total of $265,000 USD in the prize pool on the line for MK1’s first Pro Kompetition season culminating in the Final Kombat World Championship event with 20 of the best players from across the world.
