Ahead of the conduct of local government elections in Anambra state, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC.
Governor Soludo performed the function at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, on Tuesday.
Magistrate Chinelo Genevieve Osakwe is Chairman of the Commission
Members are Mrs. Bernadine Obande, Barr. Osita Cyril Igbokwe, Sir Chinedu Anthony Nnalue, Mrs. Helen Ifeyinwa Umeh and Mr. John Emeka Okeke.
Terms of reference of the Commission include to organize, undertake and supervise all elections and matters pertaining to elections to the elective offices in the Local Government councils in the State, among others.
The functions of the Commission under paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of Anambra Electoral Law 2024 shall include the division of the area of the Local Government, into such number of ward or constituencies as are prescribed by law for the purpose of the elections to be conducted by the Commission, among others.
Inaugurating the members of the Commission, Governor Soludo charged them to render nothing short of sterling service to ndị Anambra.

Sylvia Ifemeje, Commissioner for Local Government and Town Union Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, among others.
