SNK has 30 announcements prepared in celebration of The King of Fighters' 30th anniversary

It turns out that The King of Fighters ’94, the first entry of The King of Fighters series, has officially turned 30 today. SNK has announced that they have apparently prepared various projects to celebrate this event.

Evidently, SNK has been particularly prominent this year considering how Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui will be appearing in Street Fighter 6 this year as guest characters. Shortly afterwards, SNK then rereleased SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos for modern platforms. We also recently learned that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be releasing on April 24, 2025.

However, it turns out that all these previous reveals have nothing to do with The King of Fighters’ 30th anniversary. Instead, SNK has seemingly prepared 30 announcements that they’ll be revealing throughout the rest of the year.

Over on the official website for The King of Fighters’ 30th anniversary, three of these reveals have already been posted. At some point today, SNK will be releasing development documents for The King of Fighters series.

On September 6, 2024, fans will be able to relive the memories via The King of Fighters series poster. One week later, 30th anniversary digital stickers and smartphone wallpapers will be unveiled.

For now, there are no game announcements, rereleases, or new DLC fighters for The King of Fighters 15. However, considering that there are still 27 announcements labeled as being “coming soon,” it’s certainly possible that these sort of surprises could be waiting for fans in the future.

By the look of things, at least one new announcement will happen about every week. We’ll just have to wait and see what gets revealed in the coming weeks.
