Slow motion clip shows just how ridiculously lucky this Luke player was with Drive Rush in neutral during Street Fighter 6 round

It’s generally agreed upon that the Drive Rush action is one of the most powerful tools a character has in Street Fighter 6 during this first season. Needless to say, understanding how to stop it from happening in neutral is an important skill to have.

For better or worse, however, the Drive Rush is extremely versatile in how it can be used to mess with the opponent’s timings. A recent clip on Twitter uploaded by IBDkuwano does a good job of demonstrating why some players have come to hate the Drive Rush.

During the clip in question, a neutral position depicting a Luke and Ryu player gives us the impression of the two being evenly matched during this round. To start his offense, the Luke player opts to Drive Rush in with the hopes of securing an opening.

It would appear that the Ryu user was able to predict this scenario. Ryu would then throw out a crouching medium punch in hopes of stopping Luke in his tracks.

Seen in slow motion, we’re led to believe that Ryu is meant to win this exchange, but Luke’s shifting hurtbox on his own crouching medium punch narrowly allows him to avoid this fate. As such, Luke ended up hitting Ryu in this crucial moment.
