Purpose:
To oversee and manage on-site activities at our mining operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electronics and mining operations, ensuring that all electronic systems and equipment function efficiently and safely. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating with various teams, managing resources, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality customer service by installing and maintaining systems to ensure optimal operation.
Education, experience, and competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and/or Electrical Trade (Red seal)
3-5 years of experience in a technician role within the mining industry.
1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role (advantage)
Computer literate in relevant software and tools for project management and reporting.
Own Transport, valid driver's license, and the ability to travel to remote mining sites as required.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the teams on site.
Ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used in mining operations.
Conduct site and system surveys prior to installation and quoting to ensure standards and timelines are met.
Minimize damage to installed equipment through careful placement of units.
Ensure wiring and installation comply electrically and mechanically.
Continuously seek better placement of equipment to improve range and coverage of the warning field.
Conduct site visits to assess and promptly fix problems.
Ensure the team responds quickly to reported failures and carries out timely repairs.
Supervise the team to thoroughly test equipment, analyse faults, and ensure conformance to installation manual specifications.
Ensure repairs and parts are ordered promptly to rectify faults.
Provide written feedback on failures and suggested improvements to the Account Manager.
Compile reports for audits requested by mines and complete required administration (service reports, timesheets, and COCs).
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and systems to identify and address any issues or potential hazards.
Coordinate with management to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, equipment logs, and maintenance records.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electronic systems and equipment.
Provide training and support to site personnel on the proper use and maintenance of electronic systems.
Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to promote continuous improvement.
Participate in site meetings and provide regular updates to management on project progress and any issues that arise.
