Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for providing support to:
- Quantity Surveyor in terms of detailed quantity take-off, progress measurement, and reporting, Contractor resources (manpower and equipment) monitoring – all disciplines.
- Verify, challenge, or confirm the Contractor’s daily, weekly & monthly reports.
- Challenge/validate the Contractor’s progress report relevant to the monthly payment application.
- Highlight & record changes in quantities (omission/addition) in preparation for potential variation orders.
- Lead Planning Engineer in terms of monitoring/recording the actual start and completion dates of each activity as per detailed Work Time Schedule.
- Record work stoppages/delays at the work site and highlight the cause of delay/stoppages.
Main Responsibilities
In general, the Site Quantity Surveyor is expected to:
- Support the Quantity Surveyor and Planning Engineer in collating data such as progress (all disciplines), actual start/finish dates of activities in line with the detailed Work Time Schedule, delays, and stoppages at Project work sites.
- Assist in developing forms, reporting templates, and monitoring sheets in line with the Contract requirements.
- Produce detailed quantity take-off of all disciplines from Construction drawings.
- Scrutinize, physically check, and confirm the Contractor’s progress report, manpower & equipment on site.
- Check/Validate the Contractor’s monthly progress used for monthly payment application.
- Prepare independent reports as required by the project.
- Highlight & record changes in quantities (omission/addition) in preparation for potential variation orders.
- Highlight & record work stoppages/delays at work site.
- Record actual start and completion dates of all the activities in line with the detailed work schedule.
- Perform other Planning & QS tasks required by the project.
Educational Qualifications and Skills
- Professional Experience: 5 – 15 years
- Experience in a similar position:5 years
- Level/Diploma: Quantity Surveyor/Engineer, or equivalent
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and financial reports
- In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
- Experienced at compiling and following budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
- Knowledge of Company rules/procedures
- Knowledge of International standards and norms
- Project Management skills
