Tekken Tag 2 is still a damn beautiful game
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 dropped back in 2011 and brought with it some absolutely stellar graphics as the relatively realistic-looking (compared to the example many other fighting game franchises set) characters looked arguably better than ever. Just four years later in 2015, Tekken 7 came out and upped the ante even further.
While Tekken 7 has the advantage of four additional years of technological development, and thus a little more detail, it surely hasn’t left TTT2 in the dust. YouTuber YOYO-DODO offers us a video showcasing visual comparisons for all characters who appeared in both games.
This showcase includes Alisa, Jin, Asuka, Kazuya, Nina, Anna, Zafina, Xiaoyu, Lily, Kunimitsu, Paul, Hworang, Law, Steve, Lars, Bryan, Yoshimitsu, King, Armor King, Panda, Kuma, JACK, Lei, Eddy, Lee, Leo, Miguel, Bob, Marduk, Dragunov, Ganryu, Feng, Devil Jin, Heihachi, and Julia.
All 35 of these roster mates show their intro sequences, then a few seconds of side by side neutral stance, and finally a front-facing of their neutral stances so that we can see their faces clearly.
YOYO cycles through some of the Tekken 7 alternate costumes for each of these, especially when the characters have callback outfits that mimic their Tekken Tag Tournament 2 attires.
Do you find anyone’s TTT2 appearance to be actually better than their Tekken 7 appearance? And are any older looks especially notable to you, even if they don’t have as much detail as later ones?
