Residents of Inisa, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, are in shock as two friends were found dead from stab wounds on Friday morning.
THE WHISTLER gathered that Ali Baba, a 62-year-old Ghanaian, and his Nigerian friend, Kayode Olete, 52, stabbed each other to death following an altercation.
The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Thursday at Baale Okunoye Compound, Inisa, where the two men resided.
The cause of the altercation remains unknown.
Hannah, a resident of the community, told THE WHISTLER, “They were very close friends. We don’t know what caused their fight. When the Civil Defence officers arrived at the house this morning, they had already killed each other.”
Kehinde Adeleke, spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Osun, confirmed the incident.
“On Thursday evening around 9:05 PM, we got a report that the two friends were fighting at Baale Okunoye Compound, Inisa.
“Nobody knows what led to their fight as the house where the incident happened is isolated and dilapidated. Passersby later saw them in a pool of blood as they have stabbed and matcheted themselves.”
Adeleke added that the NSCDC contacted the chairman of the LCDA and the elders of the community about the incident.
“When we got to the scene this morning, it was discovered that the two of them have passed on. The families of the two victims were contacted and they gave their consent for them to be buried.”
