Shawn Johnson East has taken a leap of faith into the realm of body art. The Olympic champion now proudly sports five fresh tattoos. Four of these are a tribute to her husband, Andrew East, and their three little ones: Drew Hazel (4), Jett James (2), and Barrett “Bear” Madison (1 month).
At 32, Shawn decided to show off her new ink on Instagram Stories on Feb. 6. Her followers got a sneak peek at the tattoos on her arms. These tattoos spell out the names of her kids.
“Drew Hazel” is etched in a dreamy, cursive font. It’s quite lovely, really. The tattoos for “Jett James” and “Bear Madison” have a more blocky look. Jett’s name is in lower case, while Barrett’s is in all caps. It’s a nice contrast, don’t you think?
She also has a cursive “A” for Andrew. It’s right there on her shoulder. It’s a subtle, sweet nod to her husband.
Shawn’s tattoo collection is rounded out by a honeybee. It’s drawn on her wrist. This one’s a tribute to Madison’s Reserve. That’s the honey business she runs with Andrew and his family. It’s a pretty neat way to honor her entrepreneurial side, wouldn’t you say?
