SF Giants trade Taylor Rogers to Reds, acquire MiLB reliever: report

The Rogers twins will no longer wear the same uniform.

The San Francisco Giants have traded left-hander Taylor Rogers and cash considerations to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor-league right-handed reliever Braxton Roxby, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Rogers, 34, pitched two seasons for the Giants after signing a three-year, $33 million deal, posting a 3.06 ERA over 111 2/3 innings with 128 strikeouts. The left-hander, the twin brother of submariner Tyler Rogers, was slated to make $12 million in 2025. With Rogers off the books, the Giants could allocate financial resources elsewhere.

The Rogers twins will spend Opening Day in the same ballpark as San Francisco’s first game of the season comes on March 27 at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.
