Sevilla are reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer for Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Ligue 1 side Montpellier.
The Spanish club, which has recently shown a preference for Nigerian players, signed Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke on free transfers last summer.
While both have struggled to make a significant impact, Sevilla’s interest in Nigerian talent remains strong.
As previously reported, Sevilla have been looking to strengthen their attacking options, and now reports from Spain suggest they are closing in on another Nigerian striker.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the club has agreed to a €5.5 million fee with Montpellier for Adams’ transfer.
Akor Adams, who joined Montpellier from Norwegian side Lillestrom in 2023, has impressed during his time in France, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in 49 appearances.
He was also previously linked with a move to AC Milan, but now, Sevilla appears to be his next destination.
The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, making Adams the third Nigerian player at Sevilla.

However, this move could signal an uncertain future for fellow Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Despite Sevilla’s silence on Iheanacho’s situation, Adams’ potential arrival raises questions about the Super Eagles star’s place in the team.
Iheanacho has struggled to score in La Liga, failing to find the net in nine appearances, most of which were off the bench.
Reports suggest Sevilla may be looking to offload Iheanacho to make room for Adams and raise funds for additional reinforcements.
Iheanacho has been linked with moves to clubs like Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Leeds United, and Ipswich Town, though nothing concrete has materialized yet.
With the imminent signing of Adams, Sevilla will have three senior strikers, a surplus for a mid-table La Liga side, making it increasingly likely that Iheanacho could be heading out.
