The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed seven new board members at its annual banquet on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Kiwanis Community Center.

Kayla Bush, Emily Cain, Dr. Meredith Tillman Flatt, Katie King, Jamie Sessions, Breunna Wiggins, and Anna Worley were inducted to serve three-year terms on the chamber’s Board of Directors. Their terms began on Jan. 1, 2025, and will run until Dec. 31, 2027.

“We are so excited to welcome the new board members to the Andalusia Chamber. We are looking forward to working with them and hearing all their fresh new ideas,” AACC Executive Director Mellisa King said.

Bush is the branch manager for All In Credit Union in Andalusia.

“I decided to become a board member because I wanted to contribute to the growth of my local business community by providing leadership and having networking opportunities to help develop my community and leadership. Becoming a board member can provide you with valuable leadership skills. This is because being part of a board offers numerous opportunities for learning and growth,” Bush said.

Cain is an administrative assistant in human resources for Andalusia Manor.

“An active chamber provides an opportunity for our community, so our citizens can be happy and connected at home. Many successes in the past have provided business and entertainment opportunities that have made Andalusia a special place. I hope to play a small part in continuing that in the future,” Cain said.

Flatt is an optometrist for Tillman Family Eye Care.

“I have always been happy to give back to the community that has given so much to me through the years. Serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board is the ultimate opportunity to do that,” Flatt said.

King is the director of student activities and community engagement for LBW Community College.

“I think it’s very important for our students to have a direct connection to their community. Working with the Chamber is probably the best way that I can integrate what we’re doing on campus with what is happening around us and achieve mutual success,” King said.

Sessions is the vice president of marketing for Conecuh Sausage Company.

“I became a member of AACC after accepting the nominated position. I am proud to serve in this capacity. I believe in the importance of building strong relationships within the community and advocating for the needs of local businesses,” Sessions said.

Wiggins is the director of growth and outreach for Andalusia Health.

“I decided to become a board member of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce because I believe in the importance of supporting businesses and fostering economic growth within our community. By joining the board, I can contribute to helping create a thriving business environment, promote collaboration amongst local enterprises, and work on initiatives that benefit both businesses and the residents of Andalusia. Additionally, being a part of the AACC allows me to have a direct impact on the development and prosperity of Andalusia,” Wiggins said.

Worley is the member services manager for Covington Electric Cooperative.

“I decided to become a board member to help represent Covington Electric Cooperative and work alongside other community leaders to drive growth in Andalusia and the surrounding areas. As a cooperative, Covington Electric is deeply invested in supporting the communities we serve. Being part of the Chamber gives me a direct way to contribute to that mission, particularly through collaboration with local businesses and organizations,” Worley said.

All seven are excited about the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors.

“I look forward to giving back to the community, networking, and relationship building,” Bush said.

“There is a sense of pride and belonging throughout the City of Andalusia. I look forward to helping the Chamber recruit, support, and promote businesses in our community. I want to encourage others to love our city and become a part of what makes it so unique,” Cain said.

“I am most looking forward to meeting new people in the community and finding out new ways that my office, Tillman Family Eye Care, and I can serve our community in a meaningful way,” Flatt said.

“I love collaborating with like-minded people who are all interested in making Andalusia absolutely the best place to live,” King said.

“I look forward to the opportunity to work with other business leaders and community members on initiatives that drive economic growth and enhance the vibrancy of our city,” Sessions said.

“As a board member, I am looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with my fellow board members, passionate community members, and local business owners to make a real difference in Andalusia. The residents of Andalusia really welcomed me with open arms from the moment I started at Andalusia Health. I am eager to bring my perspective to our discussions and initiatives at the AACC. Ultimately, I am excited to contribute to shaping a vibrant and thriving economy, while building lasting relationships with fellow members and the broader community,” Wiggins said.

“I’m looking forward to building stronger relationships with fellow board members and learning more about the ways in which the Chamber supports and promotes our local economy,” Worley said.

Each newly elected board member will use this opportunity to grow further during their tenure.

“I hope this experience allows me to learn valuable leadership skills and community involvement to make an impact on others,” Bush said.

“Being a part of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce is an opportunity for me to be involved, make connections, and learn from others,” Cain said.

“I hope to further my leadership skills while building relationships with other professionals and businesses in the area,” Flatt said.

“Relationships are incredibly important to me, so I hope to make meaningful connections with our board and other members of the community,” King said.

“While serving in this position, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that local businesses face in our area and leave a positive impact on the Andalusia community,” Sessions said.

“I am looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the local business landscape, trends, and challenges. One of the key benefits is the opportunity to connect with other local business leaders and community members while fostering a valuable partnership. This role will also help to develop and enhance my leadership skills, which can be beneficial for both my career and personal growth. Contributing my time and expertise will be incredibly rewarding offering a sense of personal fulfillment as I help support and grow the local economy,” Wiggins said.

“I hope to gain a greater understanding of how local businesses and organizations can collaborate to strengthen the community’s economy. I look forward to gaining insights from other board members and sharing my perspective on how we can better serve our community and foster long-term success,” Worley said.
