What we’ll expect from you
- In typical early-stage company fashion, you will do a lot of things, but here’s an outline of what your day-to-day will look like, and some of the personal wins you can score here.
You will:
- Build, update and maintain our design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all product designs.
- Explore and implement new ways to reduce friction for our customers.
- Collaborate with the founders, product manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Conduct user research and user testing to gather insights that inform the product design process.
- Create and present design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that meet user needs and business objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented to a high standard.
- Mentor and guide junior designers to ensure they produce high-quality work that meets the team’s standards and that delight our customers.
- Communicate design decisions to the team and provide rationale for design choices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in product design and advocate for their integration into the product design process.
- Ensure designs are accessible and inclusive, meeting WCAG guidelines and the needs of customers with disabilities.
What we’ll look out for
- A kick-ass body of work that demonstrates proficiency in product design, user research, and user testing
- At least 5 years experience as a product designer
- Experience in an early stage company or startup environment. Preferably working on financial services products
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of design systems and how they are implemented
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work closely with a small team and stakeholders
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior designers
- Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and accessibility best practices

- Has experience in motion design and animation
- Can reduce complex problems down to the right balance of flexibility, power, and ease of use
- Is skilled in explaining the work, process, and decisions to the team and craves feedback to produce great work
