ROLE REQUIREMENT
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for all or part of these areas:
Install and maintain network LAN/Wireless solutions
Troubleshoot network issues, ensure network security, create and configure network solutions
Ensure that customer requirements are understood and implement accordingly
Deploy best practices, standards, and processes to deliver network ICT solutions
Technical implementation of network proposals
Apply security updates
Assess Network performance
Provide technical input to RFP/RFI/RFB tender requirements
Provide 2nd and 3rd line network support
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Conduct technical LAN / wireless consultations to customers
Facilitate demand creation customer workshops
Provide Technical Consultation to Account Managers and Project Managers
Facilitate customer technical LAN / wireless workshops
Research leading LAN / wireless technology solution and services
Provide internal technical product training / updates to peers and Sales team
Keeping LAN / wireless certification up to date
Knowledge of LAN / wireless standards
Knowledge of Cisco / Meraki / Ruckus LAN / wireless products essential
Ability to work in high stakes environments with multiple senior stakeholders and with a cross industry focus
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Matric Certificate essential
Cisco LAN/Wireless Certified (CCNP) or equivalent
5 -7 years relevant experience essential within telecommunication industry
5- 7 years in the IT industry and/or a system/network admin role.
5- 7 years working experience with LAN / wireless products / solutions
5 – 7 years working experience in related LAN / wireless technologies
