Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
Prepare annual financial statements
Prepare budget variance analysis
Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
Ensure the accurate and timeous reporting of information within group reporting deadlines.
Evaluate accounting, legislation & tax compliance with respect to existing and new products
VAT computations and reconciliation.
Running with the insurance Bordereaux & collection campaigns
Knowledge of the insurance sector regulations and the Companies Act
Assisting with management of the external audit & FSP audit for FSCA
Reconciliation of General Ledger control accounts with an enquiring mindset
Banking administration (Management of daily transactional needs with bankers including completing all general administration)
Payment processing
Ensure efficient cash planning (Transfers and payment scheduling)
Current portion calculations of debt and lease amortisation schedules
External audit work preparation
System projects and automation of financial reporting systems/reports.
Ensure an effective communication channel between finance, other departments within the company as well as external stakeholders.
Investigate improvement to existing business processes to ensure best practice is adopted to achieve efficiencies.
Skills and Qualities:
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at all levels including Executive Management and external stakeholders
Ability to work in a highly pressurized department, be solution driven and adhere to tight deadlines
Ability to multitask and work with multiple companies simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Technical Knowledge:
Matric
Must have obtained a Bachelors Degree in Accounting
2 – 5 years Post-Graduate experience preferred
