Job Description

The role of an Enterprise Architect encompasses many activities including (but not limited to):

Provide inputs on the development and planning of provincial ICT policy and strategy relating infrastructure and ICT security.
Recommend and participate in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Technology Architecture.
Develop Technology Roadmap and related solutions.
Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the Enterprise Architecture objectives are consistent with the Enterprise's long-term business objectives.
Research overall ICT solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs.
Assess viability and architectural fit of technology provider product roadmaps.
Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings related to the designated project/s.
Advise and recommend technology architecture strategies, processes and methodologies.
Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up- coming vendor products and solutions.
Participate in and manage Technology Architecture Workshops for the development and maintenance of the Enterprise.
Collaborate with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the Enterprise Architecture framework and standards. Recommend the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level.
Recommend and participate in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.
Collaborates in the creation of required business cases for related ICT projects.
Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof-of-Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.
Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies.
Formulate and review standards that support an environment that's evolving. Be objective in product evolution, identifying risk and potential vendor locking on product or services.
Design models and conceptual technology architectures.
Manages and maintain the technology artefacts in the enterprise architecture repository.
Contribute, promote and ensure adherence to ICT governance frameworks, processes and best practice.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a relevant role.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science etc.
Architecture certificate (e.g., TOGAF, Red Hat, Amazon etc.).
