Key Responsibility Areas

Manages Traffic Prosecutions (across all Regions) by constantly updating all applicable legislation immediately upon receipt of any amendments as well as interprets and informs
Commanding Officers of such amendments for implementation.
Ensures that the fines system is updated continuously.
Stays abreast with statutory changes by identifying amendments which impact directly on the Department and diarises dates on which amendments are set to come into operation.
Ensures that all other general legal requirements applicable in respect of current legislation are adhered to and facilitates the implementation of corrective measures for non-compliance.
Communicates with Regional Commanders regarding any changes affecting legislation and its impact on law enforcement, thereafter providing Regional Commanders with the correct statutory references and corresponding offence descriptions for implementation.
Prepares applications for the determination of Admission of Guilt fine amounts in light of current and new legislation and discusses this with the Chief Magistrate/Durban and /or Magistrate of the relevant district.
Assists the Systems Controller by identifying inaccuracies, irregularities or defective legal documents, verifying existing charge sheets read correctly and recommend corrective measures to be implemented.
Co-ordinates all court representations-processes and communicates with the Department of Justice Officials and internal Management on relevant issues.
Co-ordinates all internal disciplinary grievance matters by providing support of a technical nature to various role-players.

Essential Requirements

Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Administration or any other related and equivalent qualification
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
3 Years relevant experience.
Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements

Degree (NQF Level 7) in Administration or any other related and equivalent qualification
4 Years relevant experience.
